BridgeZ Says Take Your Time!

Alliance First Lady Bridgett “BridgeZ” Roache has released a video for her hit single “Take Your Time” featuring Big Wayne, which encourages men and women to take their time when entering a new relationship.

The singer especially hopes to target young women with the song.

“It can boost a young lady’s confidence that you can be sexy without flaunting it and showing all over, and you can be sexy without rushing into things. Once you know your value its natural to want a man to take his time,” says the singjay who is managed by Bounty Killer.

Filmed by Chris “Icey Jace” Campbell on location at the Wyndham Hotel in New Kingston, the video shows BridgeZ prepping for a photoshoot while a man (who locked eyes with her in the lobby) tries to find her room. The attractive lead is given the room number by the bell boy only to face BridgeZ strict manager who refuses to let him in. She glimpses him and gives him her assistant’s number as she would be on set all day. Bridgez meets her love interest later that night for just a drink. Shots of BridgeZ and Big Wayne as well as Big Wayne and his love interest play in between these scenes.
The song was written by BridgeZ, Bounty Killer and Munga Honorable and produced by Zum (Good Good Productions) on the Freezing Point Riddim and has been getting frequent airplay both locally and overseas.

The“Take Your Time” video premiered on On Stage with Winford Williams earlier this year.

Canadian Radio Music Awards

Canadian Music Week is pleased to announce nominations for the 16th annual Canadian Radio Music Awards (CRMAs). Sponsored by Astral Radio, the awards, celebrating first-time charted artists and honouring individuals or groups among them with some of the most played songs at Canadian radio, will be handed out on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, doors 7 p.m. at Kool Haus in Toronto. This year, for the first time, the show will be open to the public and will serve as the official kick-off event to Canadian Music Week 2013 activities. Winners will be announced throughout the show, highlighted by performances from nominees Anjulie, Dallas Smith, Elise Legrow, Jesse Labelle, Monster Truck, Shawn Hook, USS and Victoria Duffield.Massari, who’s latest single “Brand New Day” was just certified gold, will also perform. Fans’ Choice nominees Marianas Trench, who recently completed their first cross-Canada arena tour, will headline the awards with a special guest performance before embarking on the second leg of that tour, running March 23rd – April 19th

Leading the way with three nominations apiece are My Name is Kay with the song “Strangers”, Victoria Duffield with “Feel”, and Carly Rae Jepsen with two SOCAN Song of the Year nominations – one for “Call Me Maybe” and a second for “Curiosity” - as well as a Fans’ Choice nod. Mia Martina and Shawn Hook follow with two nominations for their hits “Burning” and “Every Red Light”. Marianas Trench complement their two nominations – Fans’ Choice and Song of the Year for “Fallout” – with a songwriting nod for frontman Josh Ramsay in his role on Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe”.

This year’s music categories include: Mainstream AC, Hot AC, Rock, CHR, Dance/Urban/Rhythmic, and Country as well as the SOCAN Song of the Year and three newly added categories for International Group of the Year, International Solo Artist of the Year and Heatseeker Award.

Nominees comprise artists who have hit the Canadian charts for the first time and who have achieved top airplay in different formats based on radio “spins”, as recorded by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems (BDS) in 2012. Votes cast by program directors, music directors, and on-air personalities determine the winners.

Radio listeners from across the country can vote online for the CRMA Fans’ Choice Award, International Group of the Year, International Solo Artist of the Year and Heatseeker Award at www.cmw.net. The voting window opens February 4th and will close on March 20th at 8:00pm.

Drink and Rave with Konshens!

Last year was a good year for Jamaica Entertainment and an even better year for entertainer – Konshens. It saw him releasing his critically acclaimed Mental Maintenance album which wowed audiences the world over and secured top spots on most Reggae charts. He made an appearance on America’s Next Top Model, toured everywhere from the Caribbean, across America, throughout Europe and who could forget Africa. The year found him being the golden voice on dancehall tracks; it was no surprise that his name became synonymous with chart topper throughout the year. He penned his signature at the end of the year by recording what many consider to be one of the biggest hits to open the door to 2013.

The track -Drink and Rave was written by Konshens in celebratory tone; commemorating his success in an industry which is unexpectedly turbulent on a good day. The vibe and energy of the song encourages enjoyment and is no surprise that it was quickly accepted in the dancehall space.

Both Konshens and dancehall's dynamic duo - Razz & Biggy (producers of the track) are enthused about how well audiences have taken on to the song, this enthusiasm has powered the initiative to give the song the added power of visuals, the team has decided to produce not one but two videos to accompany the song, set for production in early this year. The concept for the music videos will be – ‘Mad Memories’. One video will be solely for the fans and will allow them to be global stars all courtesy of Konshens and the production team.

"Amidst all the drinking and raving I try to never ignore the fact that the fans are the real reason that I am in the position that I enjoy and I constantly try to find ways to allow my fans to play a part in my musical journey", were the sentiments of an ever well spoken Konshens. To this end the team has decided to give the fans the opportunity to play integral parts in the music video, no matter where in the world they are located.

Fans are being encouraged to send photos and/or videos (length not exceeding 30 seconds) of them and their real friends drinking and raving to drinkandrave@gmail.com . These captures should embody the true essence of the song; showing the vibe and energy of enjoying drinks and raving; a true celebration. The best photos and videos will be added as ‘cut-aways’ during the production of the official fan video for the song. The photo or video which is voted the ‘ultimate drink and rave’ will win prizes courtesy of Konshens, Subkonshus Music and Razz & Biggy. The winner will be chosen by the team and weighed with the likes/votes tallied on the Razz & Biggy Facebook fan page – www.facebook.com/razzandbiggy.

To give an understanding of how the team rewards their fans, a member of the Subkonshus Music management team did not hesitate to mention that “the last prize winner of a Konshens competition won an all expense paid trip for two; tourist style”.These prizes should be just as good.

Submissions may be sent starting January 28, 2013 and will continue for two weeks; final submissions must be received on or before February 10, 2013.

When commenting on the plan for the video, half of the production duo – Razz saw it important to state that “Though we endorse the ‘Drink and Rave’ movement we still want to implore everyone to ensure that if they are drinking they do so responsibly.”
