SISTERS OF TODAY & TOMORROW CELEBRATES 2ND ANNIVERSARY WITH STYLE & CLASS

Atlanta, Georgia -- On the heels of the BET Hip Hop Awards, Sisters of Today & Tomorrow (SOT) celebrated its 2nd Anniversary, Friday, Oct. 1st, 2010, at the Havana Club in Buckhead-Atlanta, Georgia, by hosting "Cocktails & Couture" Fashion Fundraiser & Networking Event, co-hosted by Roger Bobb, Executive Vice President of “Tyler Perry” Studios and Denise Hendricks, Producer of BET’s “The Mo'Nique Show".

The intimate gathering was elegant and entertaining with Music by Ari J; there was good food, drinks and great conversation. Special guests included: Actress Demetria McKinney of Tyler Perry’s “House of Payne”, SOT mentor/Music Executive/Author of the book “The Hip Hop Professional” Shanti Das and Executive Editor of the Atlanta Voice Greg Huskisson. 

The couture was provided and modeled by Kaira Akita’s “A Clothes Encounter” (ACE), along with an audience member (Nicole Grays of Turner Broadcasting), who displayed her own fashions with the help of Roger Bobb, who in the middle of hosting duties, decided to model. There was a letter of acknowledgement from Atlanta City Council President Ceasar Mitchell, read by Denise Hendricks and a Sisters of Today & Tomorrow video presentation provided by Life Dreams Entertainment, in addition to an appeal from the Founder/Executive Director of SOT, Carla Morrison, about the organization and testimonials from a SOT mother (Courtney Bailey), mentor (Shanti Das) and volunteer (Dwon Johnson); All while a silent auction was taking place that turned into a live auction with items ranging from an autographed bottle of Ludacris’ Conjure (cognac) to Neiman Marcus, Ashley Stewart and Dolce Group gift certificates. Tyler Perry Studios even donated tickets to their movie premiere as did The Mo’Nique Show to be auctioned off.  

www.sassisoul.com debuted its “SOT” scented candle line (Passion & Sweet Dreams) as a fundraising effort for the organization. Half of the profits from each “SOT” candle sold will be donated back to the organization.
Sisters of Today & Tomorrow will be celebrating its anniversary the entire month of October. Next stop “Good Morning America” (GMA), Friday, October 15th 2010, 7am-9am. And Wednesday, October 27th 7pm-10pm, SOT will be at the Punchline Comedy, with Dryerbuzz.com as they celebrate women who’ve created a Brand by working in the community.
