►►► Throwback Thursday! ►►► Not 'Ole Dog' But Sleepy Dog!

Greetings!

Dog is said to be man's best friend and is a
domesticated form of the Gray Wolf.  Women
sometimes refer to men as 'dogs' for their
behaviour of mating with several women at
the same time.  Men sometimes refer to women
as a b&%*# (a female dog) when the female
behaves in a manner unbecoming of a lady.

In Dancehall, we have several dogs!  We have
'ole dog,' 'Atomic Dog' and today's throwback
which is 'Sleepy Dog!'

Produced by Steely and Clevie for VP Records
Riddim Driven series, this 2005 riddim is straight
vibes.  Famous Face sang the chune 'Mixing
Board' which showcased what he says goes on in
the studio on the mixing board.  Ladies who were
in relationships with studio engineers reached a
new level of paranoia.  Lawd!

Assassin a.k.a. Agent Sasco's chune "As a Man"
which used slang like 'stamina daddy,' and lyrical
play like "inna nine months dih belly haffi bang,
bang, bang" ensured the chune stayed in rotation.
TOK's "More Gal" makes it clear that 'gyal' ah dih
only ting pon dih agenda.  Whoii!  Mr. Vegas's
"Last Week" complains that the girl he met last week
gave away dih ting, and Elephant Man took the
cake with "Girls Anthem" as he empowered women
for having a tight ukubit!  Lawd!

12 of Dancehall's artists make appearances on the
riddim including Buju Banton, Spragga Benz and
Bling Dawg to name a few!

Broadcasting at 320kbps, catch all 13 chunes of the
Sleepy Dog riddim here:
